I've stated a few times since this all started how perfect Michael Moore would be for this, and how perfect a subject it would be for him. Coolness!

I have nothing against Michael Moore at all--I agree that a documentary by him would be excellent for this situation.

HOWEVER:

Not sure what it is exactly, but something about the site saying they are raising money for seed money for the film does not ring true for me. I hate to be such a skeptic, but I don't think they're going to get many people to buy that mug. Whoever is doing this needs to provide some sort of authentication of who they are, first of all, and receive backup from an official Michael Moore website or something. And is this really the way Michael Moore works? He requires "seed-money" to make a film?

As much as I would like to believe this is legit, they are definitely going to need to substantiate their claims better than what they have done so far.

And, call me a prude or old fashioned--but I think they need a new logo for the site, and for their mug.

One to watch.

Funny you say that Grippy, I have the exact same doubts and reservations about this. Hadn't expressed them because I didn't want to appear not to support the site, but Michael Moore is an Academy Award winning major filmaker, and I actually find it impossible to believe that he needs or would ever ask for "seed money" from the public for any project. That is what a producer is for. I do know that many expressed a wish that he would make a film project of this, and it was said on the eBay forums a while back that someone had contacted him in that regard, but I would be very surprised if he knew anything about this.
