GOOD NEWS! Improvement of Visibility on FS--Hopefully SOON

Postby FirmGrip on Tue Apr 08, 2008 11:09 am

I have submitted a request to the host of this fine forum to consider an edit to the template style we built this forum on, to have another option for the default font color, since many have problems with visibility because of the low contrast against the background.

They have responded that they have put in a request for a design change, and although it might take a while, it should be forthcoming! Hopefully this will solve the problems some of you have been having. Thank you for your patience.

Soon to a web developer is months. Could you not try removing the mottled images in the css and just leave the colours atleast inside the text sections?

I have NO access to rewriting the code for the skins. I've made all the changes that are possible, and that has been confirmed by support. Have you tried using the NeverWinterNights option in your profile (drop down box near the bottom where it says "chronicles", which is the default skin)

The other means you have to keep highlighting to see the light text.

The problem is if you are asking the press and others to come in here a lot of them, will look at this site and walk away, how many reporters will go round searching for someones advice on how they made it look better. It will not happen, they will have better things to do than struggle with bad design, and a lot of alternatives.

If you can't enter the file system, just ask them to remove the three mottled images either direct or through the css and then at least the text will be readable as it will be on the standby background colours that are flat.
The three images are
gen_background.jpg
gen_background.jpg2
gen_background.jpg3

You may find they work a little harder if you ask them to do that, as for some strange reason they may like the layout they designed.
