Aggregated Search Engine non-ebay stores, websites auctions

Postby maggie45 on Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:18 pm

I will post the link in the following comment so that those of you who want to try it out can.

There are a few things to explain first. I have already included all the auction sites listed at PSU as well as ecrater, blujay and etsy. I'm not sure that places like Ruby Lane and Tias really need my help to get noticed, but if you have your own store at one of these places - I can add it to the Store & Website Search Engine.

You will notice that there is an option to search either Auctions or Stores & Websites.
There is also an option under Auction Search to search either UK or US auction sites after you hit More Results at the bottom of the first search page.

Finally, you will also notice that your items on certain auction sites do not show up. This is either because the site has not geared itself towards being searched well by Google, or because there are not enough items on the site for it to rank well in a search with numerous results.

If your store or website is on Ecrater, Etsy or Blujay and is not showing up - try using Google Attributes. It works very well for my store on Ecrater.

If you have a personal website or store on some other venue that you want included just email me and I will add it. If there is another auction site, let me know. I want to do another filter for Australian Auction sites, but I haven't really looked into any as yet.

Finally, I know there are other people working on this and I am not trying to be in competition with them. I am obviously not making any money off this search and have even added it to my own website to try to get shoppers to use it.

If you like the search, you can add it to your Google home page by clicking on the links at the bottom of the search page - (you should a Google Home Page if you signed up for any Google webpage, analytics, or GBase or any other tools).

If you need a personalized search for your own website that points to a number of other stores, I can help you with it - but I will need some information from you and will have to give you some instructions for your website.

The links for the two places I have this search are in the next messages.

Remember, this is absolutely useless unless we get shoppers to use the search, so sending a link to it to your customers, posting in forums, blogs, etc. would be beneficial to all of us.

I'll check the code for the two buttons, and see if I can fix it.

It's already on my Google page because I made them - so it's hard for me to tell if they're working.

Wagglepop

Hi, Linda - I re-added Wagglepop - I think I had it spelled wrong in the search. Your store would come up under the Auction search.

There's no sense adding in every store that's on an auction site because most of these sellers also have websites or stores on Ecrater, Blujay, etc. So anything on an auction site will be under auction search.
