Hi. I am Joe. I have been boycotting eBay since Feb 18th, 2008. I will probably never list there again if the new 'Changes That Sellers [supposedly] Prefer' stay in effect. I, personally, have yet to find one seller that does prefer them! I am boycotting to try to do something about that for all of us.

I am trying Alternative sites, but eBay was the central world marketplace for my items - Non Sports cards. I probably SHOULD be selling, as my financial situation is bleak right now.I used to 'pick up the slack' with my sales there. But I just can not bring myself to utilize a site driven by corporate greed and deceit. That is my personal choice, and I have no ill will towards others who make their own personal choices. We all have to make our own.

Anyway, I just thought that I would stop by, and check things out. I see my friends Dee and Jim have also stopped by.

A very nice looking site, indeed. I am a Fantasy RPG fanatic, and this has a very appealing look to me. So, I will be back.

Hello All :).

My name is Dee .. I am known as Trainsuniqu2 and also as the partner in crime :) .. with Jim as Samanthacat0.

We live in Colorado, just outside of Denver. I am a retired first grade teacher and a retired IT systems analyst and programming supervisor.

Jim first introduced me to online auctions with the idea of selling the model trains that he and his son had collected .. well, one thing led to another, and over the past 4 years, we had been involved in selling and buying model trains on Ebay ...... geez, it was so much fun back then .. but, not the same anymore. Thankfully we have the resources to be able to be part of the ongoing boycott. We boycott for those who cannot .. our hearts go out to so many whose needed incomes are being hit so hard by ebay and support their need to keep listing.

Anyway .. back to me .. I also have a cat named Socks .. a sweet little girl but most definitely with a mind of her own :). I was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois and attended college in both Indiana (oh,ok .. I admit that I am a diehard Notre Dame fan :) and also in Colorado. I love to read and am a major sports "fan"actic .. unusual for a female.

Nice to make your aquaintance, everyone .. great to have the opportunity to be united !!
Dee

Hi, I'm Karen. I am an avid boycott supporter and did boycott for a month, but due to my financial situation, have returned to selling some things on eBay. Makes my stomach turn to have to do it, but I have no choice.

I joined the boycott for exactly the same reason as Jim and Dee. I believe everyone deserves a fair shake ... regardless of their personal ability to participate.

I have opened a store on OLA with the same ID I used on eBay (and here) and am crossing my fingers (and my eyes) that it takes off and I can bid adios to eBay once and for all.

I received a wonderful invitation to join (must be my big mouth that caught someone's attention) and I graciously accept.

The site is beautiful, easy to use and on my dial-up, works like a charm and loads quickly.

Peace brothers and sisters!

Karen, thanks so much for joining! From one big mouth to another, it was I who sent you the invitation (I'm gladhand on this forum). I encourage you to submit a request to open a Usergroup for eBay Forum Members. You can then all use it as you like: assign moderator(s), send links to the group, etc. Just go to the Usergroups section for info. Great to see you!

Hello everyone.
I made a few crappy videos over at youtube which some of you may have seen. That is where I got an invite from.
Just wanted to swing through here and say hello to everyone and I hope you are all doing well.

I have been Boycotting and advocating Boycotting ebaY & paypal since last January or so.

I spent quite a bit in the last couple weeks on NON ebay sites buying things I really did not need.
I also sell on a non ebay site which I will not disclose, and have had great success, without the hassles or the constant BS.

At any rate, I wish you all success as well, but there is more to it than just being vocal.
There is the dollars and sense side, so besides listing on other sites, please BUY from other sites too.
Your favorite sellers or trading partners may already be there waiting for you.

Whoever made the layout style and texture etc, of this board, I like it. A lot.

Hello everybody;

I found this site while I was on youtube. I am a ex-ebayer. I will never list another item on ebay again. I came across this site called Bid Junk. It has no fees, users get a free store, and they have started promoting the users items on google, yahoo, youtube, and soon myspace. I like this site so much I talked with the owner and became co-owner because he wants people to be happy and make money. We listen to all your suggests, help those who need help, and we take action against scams asap. I hope I can make a few friends here.

Best Regards;
Co-owner of Bid Junk; KushMoney

Welcome Cappnonymous!

Welcome, Cappnonymous! I've seen your videos, and I'm glad you've found us. You've made some great contributions to getting the word out about all that has gone on at eBay for some time, and you are correct that our support needs to be more than just spreading the word. All that is happening now is resulting in genuine financial hardship for many, and bringing buying traffic to new sites is important in bringing balance and stability back to the online marketplace.

I appreciate the restraint you've shown by not "plugging" the site you sell on. While we certainly applaud and support the growth of other sites, we all get rapidly tired of having them advertised to us while we are trying to stay focused on the issues. We hope to develop a comprehensive list of online marketing options in the near future. One of our moderators has been working on compiling information on a few of the larger sites, and we hope to have that posted soon.

I'm glad you like the layout of the site--we're still trying to get used to it, and tweak it, but we're excited about the possibilities here! We want this to be a pleasant place where a lot of important networking and work can get done! Thanks for joining us.

Hello, kushmoney!

Welcome to Fair Shake!

As I mentioned in my post to Cappnonymous, above, an important part of our work here is helping people understand their options for buying and selling online. We hope to post some very basic and helpful information about alternative sites to help people find places that will work well for them, and we would love to have information about your site included.

Since we're still doing a bit of rearranging, I won't link you to the section for that now, since it may change. We are working on ways to help this site remain easy to navigate, even after it becomes more busy, so hopefully it won't be hard to find once we get it set up.

Thank you for joining us here!
