Inspiration

Someone sent the following to me in a message at a particularly trying time, and although it didn't "click" for me right away, I found myself pondering it, and its message eventually contributed to me having the courage to start this forum. I think it could be applied to a lot of different situations...maybe it will help someone who wanders in here looking for a bit of inspiration:

"When a voice in your ear,
speaks of faith, not of fear,
and tells you to go be a doer...
Give heed to the voice that makes
Love your first choice,
and throw protocol down the sewer. - BC 1989."

Thank you, Mike.

Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress. ~ Frederick Douglass

"Everything happens in life. Some of what happens is terrible. We know this is true because it's always been true. But there is another truth available, an inexplicable and sometimes crazy truth that is no less compelling. The living of a life, day by day and moment by moment, is also wild with joy." Two wolves.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'
