LIGHT A CANDLE FOR "HAIRBALL"

Postby FirmGrip on Thu Apr 24, 2008 10:42 am

This is a Memorial For "Hairball" who was a Boycott activist on the eBay boards, and was killed on April 2, 2008 by a Drunk Driver.

If you have already lit a candle, please light another. The memorial for Hairball has now been set up so that all our candles will burn beside each other.

Hairball,

I miss your funny name
I also want you to know the world without you wont be the same.
You brought us together telling the truth about eBay
and in Heaven you will have much more say.

I know you are pulling for all who were hurt by this
and want you to know you will forever be missed.
You made a great impact,and fought for our rights
you led us and showed us many great insights.

Those very late conversations on the threads will live on forever
the noise that you made was much more than cleaver
You awakened us to the truth of the "Devil in disguise"
However none of us got to say our goodbyes.

I took your advise and fought for my rights
I hope eBay hears our voice with some very sleepless nights
May your words echo out over the land from sea to sea
That eBay took and riped our dreams and is no longer the place to be.

I know May 1St you will be smiling from above
and will be so proud the out pouring of love
To know we Stand so "Firm" and united as one
For Fairness So deserved by all, as we all watch under the sun
eBay take the fall for what they have done!

{Forever Your Noise will be Remembered}

~~~Linda
I only knew him for a week but he made me laugh many times. It would have been nice to know him in person. The world could have used more of him.
a sad goodbye to 'hairball'
Postby I-am-in on Sat Apr 26, 2008 12:04 am
A sad loss for those who knew,loved,shared and enjoyed the man "hairball" here on earth and will be sorely missed , while a "warm loving welcoming" awaits Hairball" at the gate of heaven. I've read such wonderful things about "hairball' and probably crossed paths several times. It's heartbreaking to wonder "why?" -as no answer seems to be good enough . I can only guess that the lord needed another "angel"-when "hairball" left us. God bless
We miss your 'nightshift' antics! You relished in the fact that the 'trolls' were keeping your thread up and you could take a break! We miss your energy! Keep on keeping ON!!
"All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
John Donne (1572-1631).
Bless you hairball. We are all diminished by your loss.
This memorial will be moved soon, as it appears that interest has come to an end.
It will be left here through the end of the Rummage sale, since some people have the link on their auction items. After that, it will be archived, and as long as people continue to keep candles lit, the memorial will remain. If all the candles go out, the memorial will end.
Thank you to all who participated, and helped to put a few moments of quiet and human perspective into these troubled times.
Thank you, willrun. It's important to remember one who so believed in the boycott effort. Many people mentioned him in their Rummage Sale listings on OLA recently.
