All right, my extended family. I need to put stragglers to bed. If I can I'll be over with my hammer a little later tonight.

I am so sorry I was not able to participate in tonight's meeting. At 5 pm my daughter called and said she had to meet with someone (this was not a social meeting). She asked if I would watch the baby. Of course I had to say yes, but was fully intending to be part of the meeting. I had this site all set up and ready.

Then at 6:45, a friend called for emergency help with her computer. For the next two hours I juggled dealing with an active two-year old, feeding him and trying to decipher his babbling (he doesn't talk yet), while I was helping this friend, who has been on the computer for five years and is still totally cyber-illiterate. By the time my daughter returned it was nearly 9:00 p.m., and that's when the SH** really hit the fan - or rather, the floor:

Just as I put dinner on the table, my little dog decided to take a nice big poop, starting in the living room and continuing in a straight line into the entire length of the dining room. Unfortunately, right behind her was my grandson, wheeling his push car right through every piece of poop, and then stepping on what had been wheeled through! I had just answered the phone from my friend's sixth call when my daughter saw the poop, saw her son's feet covered in it, started screaming and gagging from the smell and began to run to the sink to heave. (She stopped herself just in time!). It took forever to clean up the mess, gather up the courage to go back to eating dinner, and she didn't even leave with the baby until 11:30 pm.

I hope you will understand why I was unable to be here!!! And now it's so late that I wanted to post this before reading anything that was said here tonight.

So I apologize, and offer my support for the titanic efforts so many people have been putting into our cause.

Please know also that I will be out of the country when the Boycott goes into effect on May 1st (though I myself have been boycotting completely since Feb. 17th and will continue forever). So I probably will not be posting, but will try to do my part by talking to as many people as I can for the three weeks I'll be incommunicado.

Oh my gosh, golden---of all the wonderful people to have such a HORRIBLE evening happen to! I read your email to me and was replying when I realized I better come read what you had posted.

What can I SAY?!! We love you---your efforts have been many, we know we all have your support, and we are SO SORRY things went that way for you! But family calls--and we MUST answer that call. You have your priorities straight.

You are an important part of this, and when/if you have the time to read or contribute, your thoughts will always be welcomed and considered. We will miss you when you are gone--but there is a LONG ROAD ahead, and when you are ready to return to this forum, we'll be here!

I have not read all of the posts and not sure how far through it I am but just responding to a few points before I forget them.

You are talking about a press bombardment I think was the term and someone mentioned getting a pro.

I found this forum freelance forum this would be one hell of an opportunity for some up and coming to build on their CV

Few other points on the next one kill the hello, I'm here greetings at the start, I think it took up four pages on each thing, as I was here at 3am and followed the switch. By time the conversation started flowing I had allready left the comp at 4am when I had to go do some things.

I know it is the first one but maybe if every one wants to say they are here it would be a good idea for them to meet before the meeting or just join in as and when ready without the greeting.

Also rather than people having to catch up during the conversation does someone with a good speed not want to become recorder and add a short burst every so often with catch up notes, and the links to the new threads.

I would suggest all signitures are turned off during the open period, as they can become confusing and stop the flow. I'm sure they will fit back in after the event so all marketing will be restored.

One last point due to the format used that is harder for those that are not as fast on the keyboard but still may have a point they would like to make. maybe an idea would be to start with a call for concerns, subjects, topics or what ever you want to call them, then people would be able to copy and paste something they made earlier. It could be added to the catch up list as topics to be covered, or a breakdown of it. That is not saying that late arivals could not still offer a subject of concern. It could also mean that for those of us that are out of the time zone could hand them in to someone.

But all in all I think it went well for the first time so good job. I will try get through the rest later today

I think you have made some EXCELLENT suggestions!! I, too, was a bit concerned about the lack of organization of the meeting--although considering that, and the tremendous turnout, it really did go very well.

I agree, however, that many things could be done for better organization. I haven't had time to go through it all, either, but was thinking of breaking off all the greetings for those who want to go back and read, just to get them out of the way. (BUT HAVEN'T FOUND THE TIME!!!!--SORRY!) I made a very LAST MINUTE attempt to organize by making the new thread, but since this is a very friendly group of people, it wasn't entirely successful! :o)

The bottom line here is I think everyone seems to have a great attitude, and be willing to be flexible and open. I am personally REALLY happy to see that, as I am sure many others are, as well. Fair Shake is in its infancy, and I appreciate your suggestions---many will be implemented in future meetings, I'm sure. We do have a chatroom available, but it has not been activated for the public yet because I'm not entirely pleased with it. But maybe we could encourage conversation THERE, and try to keep the meetings a bit more organized and "serious".

Before this meeting, I had thought we could arrange by topics, and have people rotate through the topic threads and give a thoughtful post ON TOPIC to each. I think that could work quite well...in fact, the chatrooms could be open if people wanted to throw ideas back and forth, and THEN post. Or would that get too confusing? LOL----We're open to everything here, and I think we'll have to try a few things to see what works best.

To everyone reading this---it is up to YOU how you want things to be, and what you think will work best. I appreciate the above approach of offering suggestions, rather than just complaints--VERY PROACTIVE!!! THANK YOU. :o) What a great bunch of people this effort has attracted!

OMG, Golden - I am so so sorry, but I am just busting a gut here! I know it must have been a terribly frustrating (not to mention eeewwwww!) evening for you, but you DO have a way of telling your tale ...

Sounds as if order has been restored and all is well again. We MISSED you for sure, but feel free to add anything you like. Your trip abroad ... for fun or not? Hopefully fun and, if so, have a good and RELAXING time! Be sure to contact us when you return.

And thanks again for a little comical relief (sounds like MY life!).
