mb -

We have made a firm commitment here at Fair Shake that we will NEVER censor anyone. PERIOD. However, we DO archive things from time to time. And I believe that both parties involved would likely agree that these posts should be relocated to the archives. They will always be accessible in the archives, but not out in the main areas of the site.

I will make sure that FirmGrip and GladHand also see your concerns and we will go from there. Thanks for your suggestion - we always appreciate the input!

As the original poster in this issue, I just would like to add that I feel if anyone is to make an informative decision about any venue, all subjects should be open to be discussed and aired.

We are ALL doing the exact thing to eBay on their forums. We are airing our problems with eBay, personal and otherwise.

Customer service for any venue is a BIG issue and should not be buried. That is exactly what eBay does. Pushes issues they do not like to the basement.

I certainly hope that is NOT going to be what happens here. We openly resolved this issue and I believe that ALL of this information should be laid on the line and readily available for anyone considering OLA as a venue to read.

One person's opinion is not basis for archive and is censoring in my opinion.

OLA and I have hopefully worked out our differences, but anyone wanting to make a decision based on ALL facts, have the right to have them available.

Thanks for responding Karen. As it so happens, the consensus among the moderators is that it should stay. It IS our policy that NOTHING is to be censored. And you are absolutely correct; the dialogue shows the issues and the resolution, and the fact that all were satisfied in the end.

So no worries - the policy stands. Here at Fair Shake we are absolutely serious on the issue of non-censorship. And when archiving, so far it's been limited to old news articles and the like. Some topics have been MOVED to the more suitable category, but they are always marked as such. If we were ever to "archive" anyone's actual POSTS, they would be consulted first.

It's important that ALL members understand and recognize this. One of the priorities when this site was created was that everyone is entitled to their opinion AND to state it, without ridicule or censorship (hence the name, Fair Shake). We even asked eBay to open discussions here - which again would have meant they were entitled to state their opinion or their version of the story, without attack by any opposers. And we would have enforced the policies just mentioned had they chosen to take us up on that offer.

Thanks for the input Karen. The give and take is exactly what we're about.

~ Deb

P.S. Are you ready for the Rummage Sale that starts in just a few SHORT hours?? I'M NOT! And am currently in panic mode!! Oh well, I guess several of mine will just have to be a day or two late in getting underway. Rats!

Hi Deb, I am ready and SO excited. I have 14 items scheduled to start at varying times today. I remember reading in the OLA chat room that we needed to spread the listings out so as not to overload.

Good luck to you and to all of us on OLA.

And for OLA, I have been trying desperately to see a television ad, and I must keep missing them. The stations usually on in our home are the Sci-fi or Discovery, but also sometimes Fox. Is there anyway that you can tell us some air-times for your commercials. I would really love to see one, but just hate having the telly on all day. Thanks OLA!!

[font=Microsoft Sans Serif]Hi Karen -

Glad to hear you have listings up! I managed to get one measly little VHS movie up listed - so at least I wasn't lying when I said I was going to be participating (LOL!).

I too have watched carefully on all the channels for the ads, but have never seen one. Would have loved to! Are they still running? Somebody should tape them and put them on YouTube!

Hi Deb,

According to the information I read, the ads were to be aired from April 25th to May 7th. OLA can correct me if I am wrong. I tried to stay up late and catch one running, we were watching Sci-fi, but I guessed I missed them again. HELP OLA!! When can we see one, pretty please tell us!! All of us at OLA are very excited about watching.

Karen

Regional Ads are different than National ads.

National Ads are on:

Lifetime Network
Reelz Channel
NBA TV Channel
I Life T.V. Channel

NO SET times because they are on a floating schedule. If somone outbids OLA for a time slot we had, we get/got bumped.

Okay, Thanks OLA. I guess when I read they were to be on Sci-fi and Discovery, I didn't realize those were regional ads. Shoot, I wanted to see one too. Thanks for responding though.

And boy, are there ever tons of rummage sale auctions. I only have 14 items in the sale, but sadly no bids yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed, (and my toes and my eyes)!

Sellers seriously commited to drawing buyers - new seller adds saddle to rummage sale at .99 with no reserve -

(EDIT by Admin: Original url was split to two lines to make page navigation easier. The pheebay link above was created on pheebay's handy Short URL service: http://www.pheebay.com/1/index.php I stumbled on this interesting fact with the above url when trying to post it elsewhere--by splitting it where I did, it still pulls up the same page--so either of the above links will take you there.)
