POSSIBLE LEGAL HELP?

Postby goldengoosecollectibles on Sun Mar 30, 2008 5:48 am

I couldn't figure out where to post information about this organization, Public Citizen, so I'm posting it here. This is an independent organization that's been around for more than 30 years. They don't accept funds from corporations, professional associations or the government, and they are bulldogs.

From their website:

"We fight for openness and democratic accountability in government, for the right of consumers to seek redress in the courts; for clean, safe and sustainable energy sources; for social and economic justice in trade policies; for strong health, safety and environmental protections; and for safe, effective and affordable prescription drugs and health care."

NOTE IN THE ABOVE THAT THEY FIGHT FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE IN TRADE POLICIES

"Public Citizen Litigation Group is the litigating arm of Public Citizen. The Group specializes in cases involving health and safety regulation, consumer rights, access to the courts, open government, and the First Amendment, including Internet free speech.

We litigate cases at all levels of the federal and state judiciaries and have a substantial practice before federal regulatory agencies. Our efforts are also pursued through programs such as the Alan Morrison Supreme Court Assistance Project and the Freedom of Information Clearinghouse."

I would love to be able to contact this organization, but I just cannot do it now. I hope that one of you - especially someone who has already been in touch with other agencies and might have letters already written and saved - will be able to run with this. I know this to be a very effective organization, and maybe, just maybe, their legal arm can be effective with many of the eBay issues.

Thank you for posting this, golden!

I am wondering if you could provide the link to the website, please? Please post it here as a reply to this message, and also in the links section, as a new topic here:

http://fairshake.freeforums.org/links-t ... s-f42.html

I would like to move this information to the "eBay Policy Resistance Efforts" section, where someone might be more likely to find it and decide to pursue it. There will be a "ghost link" remaining where you originally posted, so people will automatically be linked to the correct section if they click on your topic.

If anyone can't figure out where to post something--please don't let that stop you from posting!!! It will take a while for everyone to get used to the site, and if something would be more appropriate in another place, hopefully a moderator will catch it and move it. If you see something that looks out of place, please bring it to our attention, so it can be moved. Thank you!

Hi I-am-in. I only know that I myself have not yet done so, but am planning on making letter writing, media blasting and link forwarding a main topic of discussion at our meeting here on Wednesday, and hope that we can quickly delegate people and/or groups for this very thing. Hope you can attend. If not, we'll be saving the minutes of the meeting.
