SHIPPING COSTS FOR EBAY GERMANY - PLEASE READ

Postby KernowWitch on Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:27 am

Hi Guys

Hubbie found this on one of the seller forums he belongs to. I don't know if you know about it already but thought I'd post it anyway. Hope it helps.....Kernow Witch

'Get ready for this to burst onto an eBay near you (it will!!):
eBay Germany is starting a new policy. From June 15 a seller cannot list any items again with shipping costs higher than what eBay has determined to be a reasonable rate in certain categories.

eBay is starting this for 2 main reasons:
1. eBay asked buyers about shipping and for the categories to where this new policy applies, buyers said that shipping costs were unreasonable high.
2. eBay sellers get low rating for S&H DSR in those specific categories. '

Thanks for posting this information. I sell to Germany from the USA in the sports apparel category. I'll be interested to see, which categories eBay plans to regulate.

My pleasure....first Australia with paypal, now Germany with the s&h...they must think we're daft. They introduce a new policy in a different country each time before enforcing it worldwide. They must see us as guinea pigs in a lab....also they must think we don't communicate with each other...ha well, I must thank ebay for something though, I've met some great people on forums like this...take care....Kernow Witch x

Guinea pigs or lab rats ... but you ARE right. One thing many of us have agreed upon is the great friendships we've established through this. That's the GOOD side of this experience!

Just have to agree--great people!--undeserving of the treatment they've been getting from e***y.

They just seem determined to keep trying to jerk people around. I hope more people will find a way out--they just can't treat their customers like this and expect to thrive.

I don't think they will thrive...I think that's the plan. I feel that he was appointed for that very reason. You watch in 2 years he'll be gone & e**y will either be sold off, spilt up or gone....I saw this in the UK hospital where I worked. The man appointed to close it was focused on just that & didn't listen to reason or suggestions but he took his very generous bonus.....sound familar. No body takes over a thriving business, change it to reducing it's sales unless there is a alternative reason...perhaps the next plan is to sell shares ie. the seller 'buys' or 'leases' his space or right to sell...there is definately something else happening here. e**y knows that these changes are causing chaos but they surge on regardless...the real question is what's the real why?.....we will know one day.....Take care....Kernow Witch x
