Using Auctiva on Your Listings

This from the OLA forum:

http://www.onlineauction.com/chat/viewt ... a386677387.

1) Auctiva will web host your photos - you just have to upload them. Very easy process, and easy to organize photos into files. I upload batches of 30 at a time.

2) Each Auctiva listing allows up to 24 photos, so if you use the template, the only photo you will need to up load to OLA is your thumbnail.

3) Auctiva has a section called profiles. You will want to fill in the Seller's Profile with all the pertinent information - payment, shipping, about us, contact us, and return/shipping policy. Once you have it done, you never have to touch it except to upgrade something ( I have my repatoo FB counter embedded in the contact me section.)

4) Then you can create your listing! Select new listing. You only need to fill out these fields:
*Title (only because it goes into the template as a header)
*Description
*Pick your photos
*pick a template (some transfer better than others; you'll have to see which ones work for you)
*seller profile

5) Preview listing and then save it.

6) On the saved listings page, you'll see your listing. Over in the right column, you'll see a little "html". Click on that. The html for your entire listing will pop up in its own window. Select all and copy it.

7) Then all you have to do is paste into the description box on your OLA listing!

I started using Auctiva from the get-go because I figured if there was html, I could just cut and paste it - and now it's officially OK!

Using Auctiva

Postby ThumbsUp on Sat May 17, 2008 11:42 pm

You know, I always used Auctiva on eBay because for whatever reason you could have as many photos as you wanted, but still only one photo fee was charged by eBay. Plus, Auctiva has the added bonus of the huge enlarged picture when you click on it. Easy to use templates, etc., the only difference now will be instead of a direct load to the auction site, you have to cut and paste. It's not that much of an inconvenience.

Plus, for those who sell books (like I do) you can use the auto-fill feature (just like ebay has) with Auctiva, and then again cut/paste into your OLA auction. Being able to list books this way is a huge time saver in that you don't have to take photos (use the stock photo) and the prefilled information included a synopsis of the book so you dont' have to retype the information.

Excellent information.
